What I Like About You ran on American television for four seasons and created 86 episodes. Each episode is unique and different and tells the story of sisters Val and Holly Tyler living together in New York City.
The first season introduces the main characters Holly and Val Tyler. Val is an independent woman, with a great career and long-term boyfriend. Holly is free-spirited teenager who needs a place to live so she doesn't have to move to Japan with her father. The season's first episodes show the growing relationship between Val and Holly as they both have to make huge adjustments in their lives. Holly meets Henry Gibson and they begin dating while Val and her boyfriend break-up.
The second season starts out with the introduction of Vince, a bike messenger who Holly befriends. This fateful meeting begins the notorious love triangle between Holly, Henry, and Vince. Holly struggles with feelings for both boys. In the final episodes, Holly decides to go to Paris for a summer internship. Both Henry and Vince try to convince Holly of their feelings, but she still conflicted and decides to make a decision when she is gone.
The third season's episodes begin with the return of Holly from Paris. She is not alone though, she brings back her new boyfriend, Ben, who she met while overseas. Henry goes off to Princeton University and Vince eventually starts dating a new girl. Holly realizes she has feelings for Vince still and takes several episodes to actually try and tell him how she feels.
Meanwhile, Val reunites with her ex-fiancé Rick. They begin dating again and plan on getting married. However, through a series of many events Val discovers Rick is commitment phobic and they end up calling off the wedding. Lauren destroys Val's PR business and they decide to buy a bakery and start their own company.
The fourth and final season is a mix of chaos and tying up loose ends. Val reconnects with her old boss and they end up married. Holly final tells Vince how she feels, but his psychotic ex-girlfriend keeps them apart. Gary and Tina, who have disliked each other from the start, hook up and end up dating.
Each episode of What I Like About You pulls the series in new and exciting directions. You never know what adventures Val and Holly are going to find themselves in. The perfect bland of humor and drama made this show a must see for four years.
