What I Like About You aired on the WB network for four seasons and produced over 80 episodes. The first season is available on DVD, but season two through four has yet to be released. Episodes can still be seen in syndication during the week.

What I Like About You takes a look into the lives of two sister's Valerie (Val) and Holly Tyler who live together in New York City. Val takes her teenage sister, Holly, in when their dad takes a promotion and moves to Japan. The first season introduces the changes both girls have to face to make their living situation work. The remaining seasons show them growing up and maturing; their bond ever strong.

Val is an organized, detail-oriented, control freak. Her life is turned upside-down when her carefree, spontaneous younger sister moves in. During the first season, Val and Holly's relationship grows as they make it through the many hurdles required to make their living arrangement work out. Val loves her sister, but feels she needs to teach her how to be a responsible adult.

Val starts out the series in a relationship with Jeff. After they had been dating a year, Jeff's parents get a divorce and he suddenly fears marriage. Val breaks up with Jeff because she was to get married and have children; he no longer does. After her breakup, Val discovers she may have feels for her boss, Vic. Nothing came out of those feelings until later and Vic quit his job and became a firefighter.

Val then developed feelings for her new boss Peter. She soon discovers he is a player and a cheater and doesn't allow a relationship to develop between them. Peter than takes off for Europe and doesn't come back. Val and her new friend/co-worker, Lauren, start their own public relations firm.

Val reunites with her old boyfriend from high school, Rick, and they begin dating when he calls off his wedding to another woman. Val and Rick quickly become engaged, but shortly before their wedding he tells Val he can't commit and they break up.

Val's PR business falls apart, so she and Lauren by a bakery. Shortly, after that Vic and Val get married after a drunken night in Atlantic City. Val was an allument, but Vic doesn't, so he works to convince Val they are in love. As the series comes to a close, Val realizes she does love Vic, but their marriage isn't valid. In the finale, Val and Vic have their dream wedding, but not without some problems.
